Over the weekend, Piato had the pleasure of catering an intimate housewarming in one of Lisbon's charming neighborhoods. The hosts wanted to welcome friends and family into their new home with an evening of relaxed elegance and exceptional food - a celebration that would allow guests to mingle and enjoy bite-sized offerings throughout the night.
As guests arrived, they were greeted with flutes of champagne and a warm atmosphere that perfectly blended sophistication with homey comfort. The hosts' newly decorated space provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of conversation, laughter, and good food.
For this special evening, we created a cocktail dinatoire experience featuring 18 carefully crafted dishes. Our team circulated throughout the gathering, presenting each creation at just the right moment. This style of service allowed guests to enjoy a continuous flow of flavors while freely moving through the space and connecting with one another.
The evening featured a progression of flavors that kept guests delighted throughout the night. Among the standout dishes:
- Passion fruit tuna tartare - Fresh tuna delicately mixed with tropical passion fruit for a bright, citrusy starter
- Beef carpaccio with pistachio - Paper-thin slices of beef topped with crushed pistachios and a light drizzle of olive oil
- Focaccia with confit tomatoes and burrata - Warm, pillowy focaccia topped with slow-roasted tomatoes and creamy burrata
- Salmon tataki with ponzu yuzu - Salmon sashimi with a Japanese-inspired yuzu-ponzu sauce
- Greek baklava - Flaky pastry layered with walnuts and sweet honey syrup
- Salted caramel brownie bites - Rich chocolate brownies with a decadent salted caramel twist
These were just a few highlights from our full menu of 18 dishes that spanned canapés, small plates, a cheese and charcuterie selection, and a variety of desserts. Each bite was designed to be enjoyed standing while mingling, bringing a relaxed yet refined dining experience to the celebration.
Throughout the evening, our staff ensured glasses remained filled with select wines, champagne, and sparkling water. The easy flow between food and drinks created a seamless experience that allowed the hosts to fully enjoy their own party.
By the end of the night, the new house had officially become a home - filled with the warmth of friendship, the pleasure of good food, and memories that will last far longer than the evening itself.
