From Vision to Reality: Our Bespoke Seafood Ice Bar at GIR Summit 2025 in Cascais

Last week, Piato had the privilege of bringing a touch of coastal luxury to the Global Investigations Summit 2025 at the Grande Real Villa Itália Hotel in Cascais, Portugal. With 120 distinguished attendees gathering for this prestigious welcome cocktail, we were tasked with creating an experience that would not only satisfy but elevate—a challenge we embraced wholeheartedly.

The Vision: Ice, Elegance, and Atlantic Bounty

When conceptualizing the perfect offering, we knew that Cascais' stunning coastal setting demanded something extraordinary. The result? A fully sculpted seafood bar crafted entirely from ice.

The centerpiece featured GIR's logo inside a large ice block that was placed a top a 2 meter ice bar, which formed the foundation of our display with premium seafood nestled on beds of crushed ice.

A Curated Selection from Sea to Table

Our seafood selection celebrated both international luxury and Portuguese tradition:

  • Succulent lobster and fresh crab, presented whole for dramatic effect
  • Mussels, razor clams and fresh prawns, showcasing the Portuguese coast's treasures
  • Sapadeira—served the authentic Portuguese way, this local crab delicacy introduced international guests to regional culinary heritage
  • Premium sashimi selection, prepared with precision for those seeking refined, pure flavors

Every element was chosen for peak freshness and quality, ensuring that each bite delivered the ocean's essence.

Understanding that exceptional events cater to all preferences, we complemented the seafood bar with an elegant vegetarian grazing table. This thoughtfully curated spread included:

The result was a harmonious balance—indulgent yet inclusive, luxurious yet approachable.

Our branded cocktail bar featured custom-carved clear ice, each cube bearing their logo; a detail that didn't go unnoticed.

We served classic Old Fashion's and refreshing Brambles, alongside a vibrant mango mocktail for non-alcoholic preferences.
